The Madsen Amplification Story
I’m obsessed with great tone, it’s my passion!
My goal is to build the finest touch sensitive, responsive, and harmonically rich amplifiers possible. I remember the experience of plugging into a truly great amp for the first time, and my hope is to create that experience for you every time you plug into a Madsen Amplification amp. No matter what emotion, thought, or idea you are expressing, the amplifier should be an extension of your playing. Furthermore, careful attention is placed on creating amplifiers that are both aesthetically and sonically pleasing, inspiring you to play more, and offering you just the right amount of features to quickly dial in a great tone so that you can focus on creating art.
Having worked music related retail as a sales engineer at Sweetwater sound, and my experience in amp and pedal repair has shaped how I run Madsen Amplification. Rather than seeking dealers and competing in the market at specific price points, I’d rather build the best amps I can without compromising sound quality or reliability, and selling direct to equally passionate musicians via my Tone Connoisseur Club™ allows me to do that. When you become a part of the Tone Connoisseur club™ you become part of the community, a part of an select group of people who love great tone.
What is an heirloom quality amp?
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary an Heirloom is defined as 1. A piece of property that descends to the heir as an inseparable part of an inheritance of real property. 2. Something of special value handed down from one generation to another. 3. a variety of plant that has originated under cultivation and that has survived for several generations usually due to the effort of private individuals.
I refer to my Amplifiers as heirloom quality because I believe a great amp should outlast you, and be the amp that your grandchildren will love playing! It’s easy to see how many products today are designed to be thrown away and replaced rather than maintained or repaired, and this has permeated Into amp manufacturing. I go beyond the typical boutique “hand selected quality parts” and experiment and voice every amp I build, and stand behind my work with a limited lifetime warranty. I hope that you find your amp equally pleasing both sonically and visually
